FAQs
What is the difference between a snapback and fitted hat?
The key difference between snapback vs. fitted hats is in the closure at the back. A snapback hat is just what it sounds like, plastic snaps at the back so you can adjust the size accordingly. A fitted hat is closed in the back without the ability to adjust the size. Some fitted hats come in a specific head size, while other fitted hats fit a size range like small/medium or large/extra large.
How do I determine my hat size?
First, let’s measure your head circumference! Take a sewing tape measure or a piece of string, and wrap it around your head, above the ears and across your eyebrows. Place a finger under the tape so you can account for a bit of room when you wear your hat. If you were using a piece of string, line it up against a measuring tape. Now you have your head circumference! Based on the chart below, look up your measurement and the corresponding cap size.
If my child’s head is too big for a youth-sized hat, can I request to have my order placed in an adult-size hat?
Absolutely! Just send us a note to shop@hudsandlolo.com and we will manually input the order for you. Please note that adult-sized hats come in at a higher cost and an additional $5CAD will be added to the order.
What if I prefer a hat in a different colour? Can you accommodate?
We’ll try our best! If we have the hat in stock or in your colour preference, we will try to make it happen for you. Please email shop@hudsandlolo.com and we can help you out from there or, add the product in your shopping cart and drop us a note in the comment field!
What materials are your hats made out of?
Our fitted hats are a combination of cotton (front panels + visor) and polyester (mid + rear panels) while our snapback hats are a combination of acrylic and wool.

What is the best way to wash my hat?
Our suggested method of washing your hat is by hand:
-
Start by Spot-Cleaning
Moisten a soft-bristled brush or soft cloth with warm water and a small amount of mild, non-bleach laundry detergent. In a circular motion, gently rub away any stains on the cap's brim, crown, sweatband, or anywhere else before soaking the entire hat in water. -
Fill a Bowl or Container With Clean Water
Add about a tablespoon of laundry detergent to a bowl of cool or cold water. Avoid using hot water as this can damage the hat by shrinking the fibers, running the color, and otherwise damaging the hat. -
Let the Hat Soap
Gently wash your hat in the soapy water and let it soak for at least an hour. Check on it from time to time if you need to soak it longer. -
Rinse It Off
Once the hat is clean, hold it under a soft stream of cool running water until all the residual suds are washed away. -
Pat It Down
With a clean towel, carefully dab away an extra water so that it's not dripping wet. -
Air Dry
The best approach to drying a baseball cap is to let the hat air dry naturally. Do this by setting the cap on a clean surface in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, which could cause fading and discoloration. Here’s a cool tip: Allow the hat to air dry over a balled-up towel to keep its shape!
